Michigan Sea Grant is a cooperative program of the University of Michigan and Michigan State University. It is part of the National Sea Grant College Program, a network of programs in coastal states across the country administered through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA). The Northeast Michigan Great Lakes Stewardship Initiative is a school‐based place‐based education program that supports the development of local youth‐led stewardship projects. Huron Pines AmeriCorps members engage schools, educators, and students in Great Lakes and natural resource stewardship projects and facilitate strong partnerships between educators and community partners.
