"The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest;
it is the one thing that all of us share. It is not only a mirror of ourselves, but
a focusing lens on what we can become...

Hi, my name is Erin. I was born and raised in Alpena, Michigan. After high school I attended Alpena Community College and Northern Michigan University.  While attending NMU, I received a Bachelor’s in Outdoor Recreation Leadership and Management.

My year of service will be with the HeadWaters Land Conservancy.  I will be working with HLC staff and partners to develop new conservation plans and revise existing priority conservation plans. I will help coordinate restoration projects, educational outreach, and conservation efforts for the Sturgeon River. I will also be assisting with outreach efforts in the community.

While I am not putting my nose to the grindstone I enjoy outdoor recreation activities. These include camping, hiking, swimming, biking, cross country skiing, water skiing, riding waverunners, snowboarding, horseback riding, rollerblading, hunting, and other activities. I enjoy playing sports. My favorites are basketball, volleyball, and softball. Then to pass the rest of the time I am awake, I enjoy sewing, reading, and doing crafts.

I am excited for my year of service with HeadWaters Land Conservancy. I have two goals for this year: to expand my knowledge base and to acquire more technical skills. Hopefully, these skills and knowledge will lead me to a successful career.
