"The environment is where we all meet; where we all have a mutual interest;
it is the one thing that all of us share. It is not only a mirror of ourselves, but
a focusing lens on what we can become...
"
- Lady Bird Johnson

My name is Matthew and I am the training and communications coordinator for the Michigan Association of Conservation Districts. During my year of service, I'm developing a survey tool for training needs, coordinating regional meetings and trainings, monitoring media coverage, and serving as the point of contact between MACD, districts, and region representatives.

I graduated from Central Michigan University with a degree in history and political science, with research projects including the Michigan Merit Award, a statewide technology integration plan for local governments, and a survey course on American slavery. I enjoy hunting, fishing, music, and socializing. This year, I hope to have a measureable positive impact on Michigan's environment through my service.
